“I’m tired. I’m fatigued. I’m exhausted. I don’t feel well. I’m short of breath. There are nodules on my skin. There are nodules in my lungs. My fingers are disfigured. The iris in my eyes are inflamed. I was undiagnosed. I was misdiagnosed. I’m suffering from the side effects of prednisone. I’m sick 5 days out of the week from taking methotrexate. Do I live with the symptoms of sarcoidosis untreated, or do I risk the adverse side effects of the medications used for treatment? My friends and family say I don’t look sick, yet I feel awful and my quality of life is extremely poor. No one understands what I’m going through. I’m tired of having sarcoidosis. I’m still fatigued. I am hopeful.”
